Football Legend Ronaldinho Retires From Professional Football, Messi sends farewell message

Ronaldo de Assis Moreira (born 21 March 1980), commonly known as Ronaldinho or Ronaldinho Gaúcho...a former Brazilian professional footballer and ambassador for Spanish club Barcelona.
Who played mostly as an attacking midfielder, but was also deployed as a forward or a winger. He played the bulk of his career at European clubs Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Milan as well as playing for the Brazilian national team. Often considered one of the best players of his generation and regarded by many as one of the greatest of all time, has retired from professional football, according to the Ballon d'Or winner's brother and agent.
He also won two FIFA World Player of the Year awards and a Ballon d'Or. He was renowned for his technical skills and creativity; due to his agility, pace and dribbling ability, as well as his use of tricks, overhead kicks, no-look passes and accuracy from free-kicks.

The 37-year-old, who also won the Champions League and Ballon d’Or in a glittering career, has not played for a professional team since leaving Fluminense in 2015. Last July, Ronaldinho said on the sidelines of a friendly in Chechnya that was he was “too old” to return to action.

Roberto Assis on Tuesday, confirmed the news of his brother’s decision in a column for the Brazilian media outlet O Globo and revealed plans for farewell tribute events after the 2018 World Cup – three years after Ronaldinho’s last club game.

On 16 January 2018, Ronaldinho's confirmed his retirement from football through his brother/agent: "He has stopped, it is ended. Let’s do something pretty big and nice after the Russia World Cup, probably in August." Such a celebration would take place three years after his last appearance for Fluminense.
Ronaldinho can lay claim to the first YouTube video viewed 1,000,000 times - a Nike advert in which he smashes a ball against the crossbar three times in a row, never letting it touch the grass.
A World Cup and Champions League winner with Serie A and La Liga titles, he could do almost anything with a ball, and thanks to the internet he can be viewed forever.
Ronaldinho will still be worshipped in his retirement thanks to hundreds of skill videos online
