Jose Mourinho agrees new five-year deal with Manchester United

JOSE MOURINHO is close to signing a new five-year deal at Manchester United.
 The Portuguese makes £250,000-a-week
The club hope to announce the agreement within the next ten days.
Mourinho initially signed for only three years when he replaced Louis van Gaal as manager in the summer of 2016.

But Mourinho and the board are happy with each other and the manager is determined to take the Premier League title back to Old Trafford.

Club directors have recognised real progress on the pitch since the two seasons under Van Gaal.

United won both the EFL Cup and Europa League in Mourinho’s first season.
While they finished sixth in the Premier League, the board accepted that a number of games had been sacrificed for the Europa League, which was seen as an easier route back into the Champions League.

Mourinho, 54, has United up to second now and they eased into the knockout stages of the Champions League.

Most importantly, he has got a spirit back at the club, which had been lost under Van Gaal.

Mourinho is currently the best-paid boss in the Prem alongside Manchester City chief Pep Guardiola on £250,000 a week.
