Two suspected drug traffickers have been apprehended by the National Drugs and Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Kano Command. The suspects named Abdul Abubakar Mohammed and Ibrahim Mustapha, were arrested with 2.927kg of cocaine, said to be the first of its kind in the state. Parading the suspects before news men on Saturday in Kano, the Commander, Dr. Ibrahim Abdul said luck ran out of the two suspects after his men trailed them to a hotel on Katsina Road, in Fage Local Government Area of the state after two months of investigation.

Embattled Justice Walter Onnoghen has rejected the judgement of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) which convicted him of six counts of false declaration of assets preferred against him by the Federal Government. Shortly after the judgement delivered on Thursday, the judge filed a notice of appeal at the Court of Appeal in Abuja to challenge the ruling of the Tribunal. In the notice, the “Federal Government of Nigeria” was listed as the only respondent. President Buhari has signed into law, the Minimum Wage Repeal and Re-Enactment Act, 2019. This was disclosed to newsmen today by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate), Senator Ita Enang. According to him, the Act makes it compulsory for all employers across the country to pay workers a minimum of N30,000. He added that the act however excludes persons employing less than 25 workers or persons in other kinds of regulated employment.

Nusrat Jahan Rafi was doused with kerosene and set on fire at her school in Bangladesh. Less than two weeks earlier, she had filed a sexual harassment complaint against her headmaster. 19-year-old Nusrat was from Feni, a small town 100 miles (160km) south of Dhaka and was studying at a madrassa, ( Islamic school) On 27 March, she said the headmaster called her into his office and repeatedly touched her in an inappropriate manner. Before things could go any further she ran out. According to BBC, Nusrat went to the police with the help of her family on the day the alleged abuse happened. At the local police station she gave a statement. She should have been provided with a safe environment to recall her traumatic experiences. Officers of the Delta State police command, on Thursday, rescued a lady from suspected kidnappers/ritualists in Adana. The lady was said to be returning from Ogbegonogo market when she boarded their tricycle. Two other gang members later joined her from both sides, leaving her in the middle.
