ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC got a hero's welcome as he touched down in Los Angeles ahead of his eagerly anticipated MLS debut.

The former Manchester United striker was mobbed by adoring fans after landing in darkness at LAX.
Ibrahimovic, 36, wore a beaming smile and the club scarf as he posed for selfies with supporters.

He is set to make his debut for LA Galaxy against fierce rivals Los Angeles FC on Saturday.

And judging by the mania which met him upon his arrival, Ibra can expect all the fans to be behind him when he makes his bow.

Ibrahimovic, whose last game for United was the 2-2 draw against Burnley on Boxing Day, is set for his first training session with his new side today.
He landed around 9pm local time last night amid much fanfare on social media and, clearly, in person too.

Zlatan said his former PSG team-mate convinced him a switch to the other side of the Atlantic would be great for his career.
He explained: "I met David when I played in PSG and he talked a lot about Galaxy, the experience he had in America, he was all positive.

"He was like: 'You should come over, go over, and try it out, play there'.

"He said everything is fantastic, it’s in progress, but to be part of it is something amazing and something he was proud of.

"So I’m just happy to get all these words because it makes it easier for you when you have to choose whatever you want to do for the next step.

"And like I said, this thing was supposed to happen before but it didn’t happen, but it’s happening now, so it’s the destiny."
